Michael S. Keren, Doctorate of Psychology
Dr. Keren is a Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years of experience in numerous settings and a variety of populations. His specialty in Bariatric Psychology has grown from both a professional and personal space. Professionally he has observed the way in which struggles around weight, food and self-image have challenged individuals, limited lives and complicated the functioning of not only the individuals, but their partners, spouses and families. He has worked with numerous people to establish realistic goals for weight loss, healthy living and exercise. He enjoys helping them to identify, explore and overcome obstacles in their path. Having had extensive post-doctoral training in Couple’s and Family Therapy as well as Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic therapy, he is uniquely qualified to assist you and your loved ones on their journey to a healthier life.
On a personal level, Dr. Keren has lived many of the struggles he helps others with regarding weight loss issues. He received his banding procedure in the late winter of 2009, and is living the “bariatric experience.” This unique perspective allows him to not only understand the patient’s experience but to deal with things along side his patients, a co-traveler on the journey to a healthier life. |
