Dr. Martine Louis is the latest surgeon to join the New Jersey Bariatric Center team.
Dr. Louis earned her medical degree Magna Cum Laude from Faculte de Medicine et de Pharmacie in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She completed a four- year training program in surgery, and worked for two years at Albert Schweitzer Hospital [ HAS ] and Hopital de bienfaisance de Pignon [ HBP ], community hospitals in underserved areas of Haiti . After immigrating to the US, she completed a five-year general surgical residency at the Caritas Health Care System in Queens, NY and a one-year surgical critical care fellowship at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.
A passionate advocate for healthcare and her home country of Haiti, Dr. Louis is actively involved in missionary volunteer work in surgery with the Coalition for Mission of Pignon, Haiti [CMP] and is a co-founder of AGAPE-HAITI, Inc, a non-profit organization promoting education in Jeremie, Haiti.
